Catalogs, catalogs, catalogs!

We in the Tea'N'Crackers household have been overrun by catalogs. And, in our household, there are two points of view on this "dilemma."

Of course, DH works for the Post Office, so any mail is good mail, it keeps food on our plates.

On the other hand, we just throw them away, what a waste! We have found the Catalog Choice website and are hoping that this is the answer to our dilemma. We signed up with them (completely free) and as we get catalogs, we go to the website and opt out of future mailings. All it asks for is your name and address and your customer number from each catalog.

It says that it takes approximately 10 weeks, so we shall see. We just started yesterday and we have 5 catalogs on our opt out list already. We thought that maybe other households in our network were being overrun by catalogs, so we wanted to share.

Enjoy!

Good Morning, Snow!

This is what we woke up to this morning.

It rained all day yesterday and then about 5 p.m., the rain turned to snow. A little before 5:30 p.m., the power went out. It was out for an hour in our neighborhood. We lit candles and played with toys in the dark. DH went and got us pizza for dinner, since they still had power, about 1/2 mile away.

We were almost done with dinner when the power came back on. What a relief, as Tea and Crackers really didn't get it. Tea kept asking if we had power in the kitchen when we were upstairs, etc. It took a while for her to realize that no power meant no lights anywhere. Crackers kept telling us that the monsters were coming because it was dark. Poor boy.

Bubba and Tata didn't lose power, so we were going to head over there for the night if we didn't get power by the time DH went to work. It was starting to get cold in the house. The kids were disappointed in no sleep over, but they were both relieved to have power back.

Bubba and Tata came and cleared snow this morning. When we first moved in to this house, we split a snowblower with my parents and sister. It lives at Bubba's house and they clear the snow for us when we need it. It sure is nice to have our own snow removal team! It is even nicer to live that close to my family.

We are supposed to have another storm this afternoon and another overnight. They are forecasting another three feet of snow in the mountains by tomorrow morning and another six inches on the valley floor. Such fun!
